I want to make a Graduation animated short film that shows people that they can achieve anything as long as they never give up and play to their strengths even in the most unfamiliar situations. My project is one where i wish for everything to have a purpose and so as a director I wish to fully dedicate myself to showcasing the story using storytelling elements and directing the audience naturally by the way scenes are composited and lit. I want to make the world immersive, beautiful and believable and the story natural to follow. For that to happen, I need people in each department, like animation, background design and character design, to work on and go in-depth with my guidance but also with freedom since i also enjoy including the team's ideas in the story if they fit the premise and message.
Venetia zoekt: : "I would love a background designer that is a good communicator, friendly and collaborator with love for details and textures in their backgrounds. i would ideally want someone that has worked as a background designer for an animation before. I would love to have someone with love for a more painterly look on the backgrounds that enjoys the poshed shapes that give a direction a feeling to the audience of where to look and how to feel before any character acting comes to play. I want the backgrounds to appear 2D but i don't mind if we do that with 3d elements and filters or with 2D traditional or digital backgrounds it just has to give off the feeling of handmade and loved. An example is using textured brushes we keep the shapes and lines clean but still with character and a handmade feel. I don't have a problem of software but the backgrounds should be able to be exported in png good quality for compositing later."
