“(Not) an answer” is at this moment a new program for clarinet and electronics I ́ve been developing for the last six months It revolves around spirituality and magic/religious thinking, and questions its place in modern society. To achieve this I drew from dreams, experiences, philosophy and literature to craft a narrative to take the listener along on a spiritual journey. Next to the electronics, I play with my instrument, expanding the palette of colors commonly associated with contemporary music for this two instruments. I get complete freedom to choose the sounds I bring on stage. Coming from a classical background, for me it has been extremely liberating to experiment and create this program, but also intimidating to put it on stage. It is the moment to change that. To the music, it is my aim to add visuals, to extend the artistic world of the music and also to tie everything together, complementing the music and keeping the spectator fully engaged. On this note, the visual artist would have complete freedom to experiment and express themselves in their artistic language. I ́m reaching out to “Maker zoekt Maker” to find this kindred spirit and craft together a “Total work of art”.
Jaime zoekt: : "I´m looking for a visual or lights artist that has experience or wants to start collaborating with live performance. Someone driven and serious, but creative and open, not afraid to go outside their comfort zone in art and to bring the expectator with them. I´m looking for someone young like me, who is also making their first steps in the professional world, but that are also experience and trustworthy. A friendly artist in which I can also find a friend, with whom working is fun to look forward and just a part of the experience."
